In the east, beyond the Glaurfeldt and across the Sunken Fields, dwells the Silent City and its ponderous ruler, Haethlin the White. A city of sages and prognosticators that ever portent the coming days, gazing into their enchanted reflective pools. In exchange for their prophetic foresight, the Silent City remains unmolested by the ills of the Spawn Wars. Haethlin himself is said to be an old demonic lord, a vigorous soul from before the enslavement of the Deepfolk. Though greatly powerful in his divination, Haethlin seeks ever more to illuminate the shadow — to bring silent certainty to the cold, unknown darkness. The lord is said to have gained his power from a being of pure light, when it long ago sought apostles to aid its pursuit of the Living Dark.
