Soldier of the Glaurfeldt, raised within the Kingdom of Mano in the fourth century of the fourth era. Transported two millennia into the future by manner of arcane intervention. Latent power of the Light burns within his soul. With great strength, Galand fights against the forces of darkness and ruin.
The boy born under the stars, raised by the moon, and freed under the suns. Galand was born in the Glaurfeldt under its everlasting, speckled night sky. Around the age of two, his parents traveled on the Stony Road through the K'bas, toward Moor Sallian. At night in camp, while his parents slept, little Galand crawled out from his bedroll toward a noise in the wood. Fearless and curious, he wandered, toward the likely sound of a night critter. By morning, he had not returned. His parents searched tirelessly, bereaved but hopeful, but could not find the boy, Galand, not older than six years old, had gotten lost. He was alone in the forest, scavenging for plants and shelter as he could, surviving with the will of one far beyond his years.
Weeks later, he found his way to the edge of the forest and saw the King's Road, a well-traveled highway running east and west through the Glaurfeldt. Here, he wandered on its beaten stones for hours until he crossed paths with a contingent of armored Knights patrolling the road. The soldiers were hesitant at first from tensions of war brewing in the south. To them this child was wandering from the wood and decided it would be best to take him to the safety of the king's walls.
By the age of ten, young Galand began training in the arts of combat. In his first year of practice, he displayed a potential far greater than his peers. He was placed with older adolescents - who quickly found themselves defeated by the strength and movement of the boy. One day during a clash with a rival trainee, as he wailed into the metal of his opponent's shield, Galand's weapon glowed with a faint luminosity. The strike nearly crushed the armor of his sparring partner. Questioning the occurrence, Galand spoke with his superiors and the clergy, who told him to continue his path, for it was the blessing of moonlight. And so, into adulthood, Galand trained and honed his strength, not yet bested by any of Mano's lesser knights.
In IV-470, at the age of twenty, Galand noticed an orange-cloaked man in the castle training courtyard. This would be the future-sent ranger, Vaerek Rathkin, whose meeting would forever alter the course of the Manoan's life. In two weeks time, by king's decree the knights would once again invade the K'bas forest, to scour the land of the corruption of Filibeth, the forsaken princess. Galand would be commanded to lead Vaerek and the foreigners into the forest, a gamble by the King's clergy that would fail. Upon reaching the Shrine of the Stars, a sanctuary of the forest-folk deep in the forest, Galand came upon the magic of Filibeth and would forsake the blessing of the moon. Soon, it would be learned that Galand was in fact a star-child, one born of the woods - only adopted by the Kingdom of Mano, that Mano's faith was false, and Filbeth and her people were peaceful.
With this revelation, Galand fought against his former brethren in confusion and sorrow, attempting to defend the forest-folk against the onslaught. The defense would fail, as Mano himself would descend upon the burning landscape, showcasing a grave alliance with a dragon called Heldranc. In the hour of Mano's victory, the Godtree at the center of the K'bas would be cleaved down, the remaining forest-folk would be slain, and Filibeth, the target of the assault, would be prepared for execution.
As the axe-edge of Glaidrogh fell towards Filibeth's nape, an elder wizard appeared through a portal, and by some arcane miracle, froze time. The mage ushered Galand and the foreigners through the rift, while simultaneously casting torrents of deadly sorcery upon the outmatched knights, before Mano himself split him from shoulder to hip. The sacrifice of the wizard allowed the rest to escape, leaving the Glaurfeldt behind.
They would come-to on a sparkling, white sand beach. Here, a blue sky with two suns shone above and the sounds of sea-birds filled the air. Stunned, Galand was, the chaos of battle now silenced by the blinding sun and tranquility. In his bewilderment, Galand crashed his hammer down upon a stone, expecting his blessed power to have been taken in his betrayal. But it was not. For Galand still holds the power bestowed to him, and now, seeks to follow the strange foreigners in the Land of God. With them, he seeks to understand his place, his power, and his purpose in a new world.
